Where have all the women gone?
Ok, lets just jump right in ,shall we?
When in the hell are women going to start counting in the world? Ever? I have been told I need to stop seeing everything through the feminist lens , that I need to lighten up . These stories remind me that *no* the problem isn't people like me , its people who choose to say nothing when women are mistreated .
Like when 12 yr old girls die during childbirth

or when victims of domestic violence are denied health care because being beaten is considered a pre-existing condition:

or this group that wants to make both abortion (even for rape/mothers health )and oral contraception illegal . I guess condoms would still be ok .

Heh, I'm back !
Ok, so I haven't posted in a really long time. I didn't really "go" anywhere or anything; I just haven't had a chance to focus on the blog. I will try to get back into a regular posting schedule .

Ok, so I am *thrilled* Obama won!
However....we still have a long way to go before we can say "all men are created equal". In the same country that voted in Barack Obama 3 states voted to ban gay marriage . There is no legal reason for gays to not be allowed to be married. It is unconstitutional and discriminatory.
Amendment 9 - Construction of Constitution. Ratified 12/15/1791.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Amendment 14 - Citizenship Rights. Ratified 7/9/1868. Note History
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Nobody is saying anyone should be forced to approve of gay marriage , but not liking something has never been reason enough to make it illegal.
Also , it is time to get serious about solving global poverty. Pronto.
