Soldier discusses his first kill (warning, some graphic images)and "drop weapons"
I'd like to make it VERY clear, I support our troops 100%. These brave men and women excel at every task given to them. I am proud of them and grateful for their service to our country. Videos like this are a reminder that we send these man and women to hell and back for our country. The man in the video has to live with his actions for the rest of his life. We need to make sure our soldiers get the help they need when they come home. Please write or call your Senator and let them know how important this issue is to us.
These numbers are from Senator Harry Reid's office:

l love my contry and troops but real soldiers dont cry or wimp out in the face of uncertainty.sounds to me hes a little bit dysfunctional.and had he had a psyc evail the proably would have caught this guy before sending him into combat .he may even have been a muslim hater. im sorry but there is also the wounded warrior who never killed innocent civilians
I think that is the point here, they aren't getting the psych evaluations they need.
I do take issue with the statement about "real" soldiers not crying or wimping out. There is no indication that these guys cried or wimped out. I'd guess they did their jobs and are only now talking about it. My dad also felt that "real men or soldiers" didn't cry...so instead he drank himself to death, couldn't have a real relationship with his wife or children and had mental anguish every day of his life. As his daughter, I would have preferred he got the help he needed without feeling ashamed of himself for acknowledging he needed it.
In general, I wish men wouldn't have the "real men" don't cry attitude. "Real men" don't hold everything in and act like jerks to everyone around them. "Real men" don't feel the need to bully people who aren't in a position of power over them. "Real men" realize that making everyone around you miserable because they aren't willing to admit they need help is not only unfair to everyone else, but makes them look foolish because everyone can tell something is wrong with them.
Just my opinion.
you got to realize through the eyes of a combat soldier you cannot show weakness and fear .general patton slap a soldier in the hospital for crying i had to actually kick a soldier in his ass because he was scared to go out on patrol.these are real stories too and these stories never get told because its not the sensationalize part of war the guy that crys himself to sleep yet everday hes out dealing and not ever showing any fear and actually doing his job and not going to the media because its your job
